JOB TITLE:	Senior Exploration Geologist

Overview

This role will play a lead role in the Exploration and Geoscience group and make a significant contribution to developing the UK business. This position will be assigned a segment of the portfolio activities and work on a wide range of activities from regional and prospect exploration, support for new well delivery proposals, exploration and appraisal well campaign execution and the development of opportunities for growth. At times you may be called on to provide technical support to our production and development assets along with the evaluation of New Venture opportunities. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct of appropriate geological studies including but not limited to well log analysis and correlation, basin modeling, sequence stratigraphy, biostratigraphy and structural geology within the framework of Endeavour’s Growth Strategy.

Integration of geological data from all scales on investigation, i.e. from thin sections, core, well logs, seismic and basin analysis/modeling.

Prospect evaluation including risk analysis and reserves estimations (deterministic and probabilistic).

Reservoir modelling for dynamic reservoir simulation and development optimisation.

Evaluation of exploration, development and production opportunities (farm-ins, data rooms and screening of opportunities etc.).

Well planning, operation support and post well analysis.

Manage your own projects, including time deadlines and resources – you will be responsible for managing multiple (concurrent) projects.

Documentation and presentation of results of technical work.

Preparation and conduct of technical presentations to management, JV partners, regulatory bodies and other parties for operated and non-operated licenses and study groups and provision of geological input as required.

Strong participation in technical peer reviews and other technical meetings.

Supervision of geotechnical contractors and consultants. 

Qualifications

Relevant Geoscience degree.

Experience/Skills Required

Knowledge/Skills/Experience:

Extensive upstream industry experience in Geology within an Oil & Gas Operator with a sound working knowledge of industry software packages such as Kingdom or Petrel.

Diverse technical experience, including exploration, appraisal and development/production.

Good communication skills. Ability to actively participate in a multi-discipline team and also provide technical judgments.

Able to cultivate an open culture, open-minded and willing to listen to suggestions and new ideas.

Desire to develop in the role and enthusiastic to progress within the Company.

North Sea experience is important.

A team player and self-starter with a strong sense of urgency to get the job done. 

Health, Safety and Environment:

Understanding of office and business travel risks and control measures.

Active participation in behavioral based HSE.

Basic working knowledge of HSE law as applied to office/business travel.

Working knowledge of HSE aspects of oil/gas operations.
