POSITION
OVERVIEW
EnQuest
are an independent oil operator in the North Sea with a dynamic management team
who have exciting growth plans to develop operations further in the UKCS.
Reporting
to the Drilling Superintendent the Drilling Engineer is responsible for
coordinating the well design,
engineering and procurement for the Drilling, Abandonment, Workover and
Re-completion of wells identified in the approved Rig Schedule. The Drilling
Engineer is responsible for the co-ordination with other departments (Materials
and Logistics, Subsurface, Finance, Production, HSE, IT etc.), and with Government
Agencies (HSE, DECC etc.). Working under the general direction of the Drilling Superintendent
the position is a key interface with all onshore Engineer and Support groups
plus all Service Contractors.
PRINCIPAL
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Ensure
that the highest Safety Standards are attained and that all equipment and
procedures are incompliance
with Regulatory Authority and EnQuest standards and procedures.
Responsible
for the development of engineering programmes and cost estimates for well
workovers and
new wells in accordance with the EnQuest well Delivery process, ensuring sound
engineeringprinciples
and practices are applied, implementing lessons learnt and using agreed company systems
(EDT).
For
each well activity be accountable for the following documents:

OPEP
Addendum
PON

Consent
to locate
Drilling
Programme
Weekly
HSE Report
EOWR
Work
closely with subsurface disciplines to deliver optimum value to all operations.
Monitor
the Operational Plan and Costing Reporting with a view to optimising
Performance,
minimising
Non-Productive Time and maximising the cost-effectiveness of the operation.
Liaise
closely with the Contracts, Purchasing and Logistics support functions to
ensure the offshore logistics
support (boats, helicopters) is provided as efficiently as possible.
Act
as sponsor for one or more Service Contracts and review or assist with tender
preparation and evaluation
of Drilling Operations Services as required.
To
participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Business
Management as
applied to the Well Engineering Team.
Ensure
compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements for well
intervention,
maintenance
and construction activities.
Liaise
with Health & Safety Executive (HSE) Department of Energy and Climate
Changed (DECC) as
appropriate on all well work issues, and be accountable for all regulatory
reporting as required.
Assist
with preparation of budgets and manage costs to achieve best value for money.
Perform
assigned emergency response duties and weekly operations duty rota (on call).
Working
together with the Completions Engineer/Subsea Engineer as appropriate to facilitate
the completion
designs and the ordering of any necessary completion/subsea equipment.
Liaise
daily with the Drilling Supervisors during drilling, workover and re-completion
operations.
Interface
with all members of EnQuest Well Engineering personnel to ensure smooth
execution of work
scopes.
Travel
to onshore and offshore worksites to assist with operations, both in the UK and
overseas.
Ensure
compliance with Management of Change Procedures.
Together
with the Drilling Superintendent prepare weekly and monthly progress reports on
the
drilling,
workover and re-completion work scopes.
Prepare
and maintain comprehensive risk register for all activities, ensuring
mitigations are fully incorporated
in all programmes.
Be
responsible for coordinating the End of Well Report (EOWR) capturing lessons
learnt, fully
utilising
OpenWells/PROFILE etc.
Close
out all operations and cost reporting (together with Cost Engineer) at the end
of an activity.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
IWCF
Certificate in Well Control.
Current
offshore survival, medical and MIST certification.
Desirable:
BEng
with a proven track record in Drilling, Completion operations, including
relevant experience spent
at the rig site (preferably offshore) in a supervisory capacity. Where a degree
is not held, significant
evidence of appropriate experience and expertise will be required.
Appropriate
industry learning and training experiences in specialised subjects such as
cementing,
directional drilling etc.
