JOB DESCRIPTION
Vacancy information
The Welder is responsible for undertaking welding/fabrication operations, under the direction of the Welding Supervisor. They are responsible for all welding/burning equipment used and for ensuring that hot work is carried out safely with appropriate Permit-to-Work in place. The Welder is also responsible for assisting in deck operations as directed by the Deck Foreman and for carrying out such orders in accordance with applicable procedures and in a safe manner.

Generic Key Responsibilities
• Work under the instructions of the Welding Supervisor.
• Ensure suitable and correct PPE for welding operations is worn at all times to include long sleeve overalls and full face visor.
• Check, set-up and monitor the condition of all welding equipment, reporting deficiencies or problems.
• Perform welds as per Welding Procedure specifications.
• Adjust welding parameters to ensure that welds are within specification.
• Update the Welding Supervisor regarding any problems with welding operations.
• Maintaining a safe and clean working area.
• Assist with the operations on deck.
• Fabrication and repair of project and deck equipment.
Qualification & Experience
• Welding certification codes with minimum requirement of ASME 9 or equivalent.
• DOSH certified welding qualifications would be advantageous.
• Valid offshore medical screening and survival course suitable for geographical area of work.
