We are currently seeking a Test Technician to join our Power Products division and contribute to manufacturing operations to produce world-class transformers within our St. Louis, MO facility.
Tasks:
Under minimal supervision, this person will perform assignments of substantial variety and moderate complexity utilizing test and laboratory equipment, instrumentations and controls: coordinate work with other departments; etc. (adequate training and guidance will be provided to less-experienced technicians). Additional responsibilities include:
• Perform following testing process and analyze result independently, including
a) Low voltage test
b) Power test
c) Dielectric test
d) Oil testing
e) Instrument calibration
f) Maintenance of test equipment.
• Require knowledge of testing equipment and relevant industry specific standard. Familiar with standard concepts, practice, and procedure within test department.
• Participate in troubleshooting in testing
• Good communication skills - must be able to explain test procedure to customer when requested.
Organizational behavior:
• Establish a good line of communication with other test technicians.
• Demonstrate participation in process improvement in test, meeting target of schedule. A certain degree of creativity and latitude required.
General expectation:
• Testing of transformers includes working at height with high voltage, high current and complex connections. It is mandatory to exhibit high level of adherence to health and safety guideline in test. Maintain cleanliness in test and participate actively in housekeeping.
• Ready to work longer hours and weekends, if needed.
• Perform other related duties, as assigned by management.

Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
Associate’s degree in the electrical/engineering field and/or related certification is highly preferred (RECENT GRADS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY). 3+ years of relevant experience in an electrical/technology testing role working with transformer testing and/or high-power test equipment will be considered in lieu of the Associates’ degree (High School Diploma or equivalent degree is absolutely required, at a minimum; Bachelor’s degrees in related technical fields will also be considered).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience in the transformer testing is preferred but not required with an Associate Degree in an electrical related field.
- Electric Power related product testing is preferred.
- Manufacturing related experience is also preferred.
- Local candidates are preferred – no relocation assistance will be offered.
