Manager – Drilling

A reputable oil and gas Operator based in KL are presently seeking a Manager - Drilling with strong leadership skills, an exceptionally high level of Technical ability and experience working on relevant projects to take on this very Senior Management level role. They are looking for a Malaysian or Thai candidate to fill this high profile role. The Manager will be responsible for Managing all Drilling, Completions and Well Intervention activities as well as will have many more responsibilities. The projects which this Operator focus on are based in the North Malay basin offshore between Malaysia and Thailand. We are looking for candidates with experience in Drilling and completion of high angle development wells, Drilling and completion of HPHT development wells and accommodating a fluctuating and often rapidly changing rig and intervention schedule. We are looking for a candidate with 25+ years of experience and a relevant University Degree.

This position is a permanent staff position which will offer base salary, bonus, shares, long term incentives as well as many more components to the package.

Some of the responsibilities include:

Lead Drilling Team and direct drilling rig contractor and service companies to execute the planned drilling and completion scopes of work.

Liaises closely with the subsurface group to ensure clear objectives are established for operations.

Manage the safety, environment, emergency preparedness and quality assurance aspects of the drilling and completions operations.

Ensure that contract strategies are put into place to enable operations, equipment, personnel and equipment are available in a timely fashion

Ensure the Drilling Strategy is active and regularly updated to ensure the timely delivery of cost effective and technically acceptable. Drilling rigs to perform the drilling programme.

Monitor all aspects of Regulatory requirements.

Ensure drilling activities are correctly staffed with competent personnel.

Provide accurate reporting of all drilling activities.

Review and endorse operational programmes.

Develop budget and cost monitoring procedures with Drilling Team.

Ensure drilling activities are completed within specified budget and schedule

Ensures non-compliances are followed through and lessons learnt effectively communicated.

Ensure safety and environmental performance of all drilling related operations

Ensure engineering design and operations are completed to acceptable standards, including the requirements of local authorities for testing and inspection of items where necessary.

Some of the requirements for this position include:

You must be a Malaysian or Thai national

You must have offshore experience (it is a bonus if this is focused on the North Malay basin)

25+ years of experience

Drilling, Completions and Well Intervention experience

Drilling and completion of high angle development wells

Drilling and completion of HPHT development wells
